Weltevreden Game Lodge
Weltevreden Game Lodge was established by the WGM Trust Group in September of 2009 after the purchase of a piece of land no more than 35 km away from Bloemfontein. With over 500 hectares of land varying from open savannah fields to lush sweet thorn bushveld bordering the Modder River, the idea of a Game Lodge was born!
Weltevreden Game Lodge is a private wildlife reserve, and offers an exclusive venue and setting to our visitors that participate in the all-encompassing experience of Eco Tourism, Wildlife interaction, Birdwatching, Canoeing, Conferences, Seminars, Team Building, Special Events and Wedding venue, Special events, Holidaymakers, Overnight, Weekend getaways, and Romantic getaways.
Weltevreden Game Lodge caters for those who choose to enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer through the lens of a camera.

After countless adventures through dongas and sweet thorn bushveld, the location of the Lodge itself was found and work got underway starting out with no more than a simple deck overlooking the river and the beauty it has to offer. Three months later saw the erection of our intimate boma and lapa area, where endless chats of yesteryear and Africa inevitably fanned the flame for a self-sustaining game ranch. It has been 3 years since those chats and unforgettable experiences around the campfire! Today, Weltevreden Game Lodge boasts 3 self-catering chalets, two of which overlook the river and one overlooking the bushveld, five cabanas, a conference hall, a cheetah enclosure with three of our big cats and 21 species of game, not to mention our viewpoint with its own driving range for all the golfers out there and an array of birdlife. It has only been a pleasure building up Weltevreden Game Lodge to what it is today and now, we invite you to come and join us around the fire for what we hope to be more unforgettable stories and a lifetime of experiences.
